Empress Al-Yasha is an international singer, guitarist, actress, and writer whose career has crossed continents, genres, and stages. Rooted in jazz, blues, gospel, and soul, she brings a lifetime of musical experience to performances that are intimate, theatrical, deeply expressive, and unmistakably her own.

A graduate of Brooklyn College, City University of New York (CUNY), with a background in theater, Empress spent more than two decades performing in Germany, including musical theater productions, concerts, clubs, and special events. Her work has always lived at the intersection of music and storytelling—whether interpreting a jazz standard, digging into the truth of a blues song, or stepping into a dramatic role.

Now based in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Empress continues to perform as a vocalist and guitarist while developing new theatrical and musical projects. Her recent work includes jazz and blues concert series, cabaret performances, and stage productions, as well as her original musical comedy-cabaret One Mic, No Apology, a bold celebration of women, truth, humor, survival, and the refusal to be silenced.

Onstage, Empress is less interested in simply singing a song than in telling the story inside it. Her performances blend sophistication with grit, humor with vulnerability, and decades of experience with the curiosity of an artist who is still creating, still evolving, and still finding new things to say.
